Ingredients to make Khaare Sewaiyan with Keema...

  • Khaare sewaiyan or vermicelli 400 gm
  • Lamb mince mutton 1/2 kg
  • chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies chopped 2
  • tomatoes chopped 2
  • salt 1 tbsp or more
  • turmeric 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tbsp
  • onions sliced thinly 2
  • yogurt 250 gm
  • coriander leaves finely chopped a handful
  • ghee or oil 3 tbsp

How to make Khaare Sewaiyan with Keema...

  1. Roast the vermicelli until golden brown and keep aside.
  2. In a wide mouthed pot or handi, heat the ghee.
  3. Saute the onions until done.
  4. Add the ginger garlic paste along with the chopped tomatoes.
  5. Cover and cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  6. Now add the green chillies, mince mutton, along with the spices and the salt.
  7. Add the well beaten yogurt into it.
  8. Cover and cook it on low flame until the ghee starts separating.
  9. After the mince mutton is done, add the water and bring it to a rolling boil.
  10. Now add in the roasted vermicelli.
  11. Cover and cook until done.
  12. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.

My Tip:

Roasting the sewaiyan gives it a nice flavour. Do it on a low to medium flame by stirring it every now and then.
