Ingredients to make Savory lentil cake

  • 1 1/2 cup split green gram (Moong daal)
  • 1 1/2 cup split red lentil (masoor daal)
  • 1 cup shredded carrot or cabbage
  • 1 cup curd
  • 1/4 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida (hing)
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp green chilli- ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • salt according to taste
  • Ingredients of Cheese mousse for frosting :
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup thick curd
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • 1 tea spoon mixed herbs (thyme, oregano, bail.. Etc)
  • pepper according to taste
  • salt according to taste

How to make Savory lentil cake

  1. Soak both the grams for 3 hours. Grind in a fine paste.
  2. Add salt, shredded carrot and ginger-chilli paste, curd, coconut, salt , asafoetida and turmeric, Mix well. Cover and keep aside for 4 hours.
  3. Heat oil and 1/4 cup of water in a small bowl. Hold it on the batter and mix soda. It will bubble instantly. Mix it in the batter.
  4. Take a baking pan. Grease and dust it. Pour the prepared batter in it. Bake it at 200 degree C for 40 minutes, until it forms a golden brown crust. Cool it
  5. Unmold and decorate it
  6. Method of mousse :
  7. Combine the mousse ingredients in a bowl and whip until the mixture is smooth and forms peaks.
  8. Decorating:
  9. Cut the cake in 3 layer, apply mousse on first layer arrange sliced cucumber.
  10. Put second slice apply mousse arrange onion and tomatoes.
  11. Cover with third layer and decorate with cheese slice flower.
  12. Serve.
