Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For gatta:
  2. 2 cup besan (gram flour)
  3. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  4. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  5. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  6. 1/4 teaspoon hing powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon ajwain
  8. 1 teaspoon curd
  9. Salt as test
  10. 2 tablespoon oil
  11. For curd gravy and tadka:
  12. 2-3 cup fresh curd
  13. 1-2 bayleaf
  14. 1-2 cloves
  15. 1 teaspoon jeera
  16. 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  17. 1 1/2 teaspoons red chilli powder
  18. 1 teaspoon turmeric and coriander powder each
  19. 3 tablespoon oil
  20. Hing 1/4 tsp
  21. Salt as per taste
  22. Chopped green coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine all the ingredients for that gattas, knead into a firm dough using very little hot water.
  2. Keep dough covered for 4-5 min
  3. Boil the water in a pan and when it becomes hot put the gattas and boil for 7-8 min. Till they float on top
  4. Now drain and keep aside, keep the water also
  5. Cut gattas into 1/2" pieces.
  6. Heat the oil into pan add jeera, mustard seed, hing, bay leaf, cloves
  7. When it become crack, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and gattas saute for 2 min.
  8. Add little water which we kept aside, then put the beaten curd and stirring continuously for 2 min otherwise curd will split
  9. Now switch off the gas and add a salt as per your taste
  10. Finely garnish with green coriander leaves
