ABOUT Pickle-Gujarati Sambhar Masala RECIPE

Gujarati Sambhar Masala Pickle is a tongue tickling spicy pickle. With flavoured mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds it is also called kora masala. Which stays good for almost one year if stored in an airtight container. It can be accompaniment for dal-rice, roti and parathas. Add this masala in raw mango and green chilli for making pickle. You find this masala in every Gujarati home. Heat the oil and let it come back to room temperature if you want to prepare large quantity of pickle masala.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 bowl Split fenugreek seeds (methi na kuria)
  2. 1 bowl Split mustard seeds (rai na kuria)
  3. 1 bowl Oil
  4. 1/2 bowl Chilli powder
  5. 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder
  6. 1/4 tsp Asafoetida (hing)
  7. 1/4 cup Salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the split mustard seeds,split fenugreek seeds, chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and salt in a deep bowl and mix well. Add the oil and mix well. Pickle masala is ready.
  2. Store masala in an airtight container
