ABOUT Shahi Methi Matar Makhane (Paneer-Cashew Gravy) RECIPE

It is a very rich and creamy curry that can be enjoyed with chapatis, paranthas, naans and rice etc.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 1/2 cup Half and half (low fat cream)
  2. 1 cup boiled and drained methi leaves
  3. 3/4 cup boiled peas or frozen peas
  4. 3/4 cup paneer crumbled
  5. 3/4 cup makhane roasted
  6. 3/4 cup cashews powdered
  7. 3/4 cup water
  8. 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  9. 1 tbsp oil
  10. 1 tsp ginger paste
  11. 1/2 tsp green chili paste
  12. 1/2 cup Kasoori Methi
  13. 1/4 tsp Garam masala powder
  14. A pinch of cardamom powder
  15. salt as needed

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan,add green chili and ginger paste. Stir for few seconds and add cashews powder, crumbled paneer, cook it for 10-12 mins on medium gas continuously.
  2. Add Methi leaves and stir for 5-6 mins on medium gas. Add half & half along with water, cook it for 5-6 mins on medium gas.
  3. Add kasoori methi, cook for 2-3 mins. Add boiled peas, cook for 3-4 mins more.
  4. Add salt, sugar, garam masala, mix well. Cook for 2 mins more. Turn off the gas, add makhane and cardamom powder . Cover with a lid.
  5. Your shahi curry with Methi matar makhane is ready. Serve hot.
