ABOUT Shahi matar paneer RECIPE

The classic matar paneer in Shahi style.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gms paneer
  2. 1 bowl of green peas
  3. 1 big sized onion
  4. 1 medium sized tomato
  5. 4 cloves garlic
  6. 1 inch ginger
  7. 12-13 pieces of cashewnuts
  8. 1 teaspoon garam masala
  9. 1 tsp dried coriander
  10. 4 cloves
  11. 1/4 spoon turmeric powder
  12. 1 big cardamom
  13. 2 green cardamom
  14. Salt (acc to taste)
  15. 1 cup milk
  16. Refined oil/ desi ghee 4 tbsp
  17. 1/2 tsp Cumin
  18. Little water (as much you like for the gravy consistency)

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee/refined oil in a kadhai. Put in the paneer and fry. Then keep the paneer and peas aside.
  2. Now put in all the spices, onion, tomato, garlic, ginger,milk, cashews, salt in a grinder and make a paste out of it.
  3. Put this paste into the remaining oil in the kadhai and roast till the oil separates itself.
  4. Pour in water and then put in the peas, cook this gravy for 10 mins. Next, put in the paneer, cover and cook it for 3-5 mins covered.
  5. Serve hot with your desired bread.
