Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Basmati rice -1cup
  2. Water. -2-1/2 cups
  3. Desi ghee 2tbsp
  4. Sugar --- -1-1/2cups [or according to you]
  5. Few saffron strands
  6. Chopped dry fruits -[almonds ,dry coconut ,raisins ]
  7. Cardamon pods-1-2
  8. Pinch of yellow colour


  1. Make sugar syrup by 1/2cup water till sugar dissolves add saffron strands ,pinch of yellow food colour.
  2. Heat desi ghee add black cardamom pods add washed rice and roast for 5 minutes on low flame add 2 cups of water parboiled rice
  3. When half water evaporates from rice open the lid add sugar syrup stir it nicely and again cover it and cook on low flame till done
  4. Basanti yellow rice is ready to serve hot ,such a divine sweet delicious rice
  5. Add chopped dry fruits , coconut flakes, serve it hot.
