ABOUT Dum Aloo dry , Bengali style RECIPE

My own recipe which is different , I have used baby potatoes with yoghurt , cashew nuts and poppy seeds for gravy .

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Baby potatoes 15
  2. yoghurt 1/2 cup
  3. Onion 1
  4. Garlic 2 pods
  5. Ginger 1 inch
  6. Cashew nuts 8
  7. Poppy seeds 1/2 tsp
  8. Green chilli 2
  9. Turmeric powder 1/3 tsp
  10. coriander powder 1 tsp
  11. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  12. Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  13. Salt as per your taste
  14. Oil 3 tsp
  15. Chilli Powder 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Boil potato in salt water for 12_ 15 mins , 80 percent cooked
  2. Keep aside
  3. Make onion garlic ginger paste
  4. Soak cashew and poppy seeds in warm water for 45 mins
  5. Take a nonstick pan
  6. Heat oil
  7. Add onion garlic ginger paste
  8. Saute for 2_3 mins
  9. Add all the spices , turmeric powder cumin powder coriander powder and chilli powder
  10. Saute for 3_4 mins
  11. Add boiled potatoes
  12. Add salt
  13. Saute for 2_3 mins
  14. Add whisked yoghurt and cashew poppy seeds paste
  15. Add green chilli , saute for 4_5 mins
  16. Add water 1/2 cup
  17. Cover and simmer for 4_5 mins in low heat
  18. Add garam masala , switch off gas
  19. Garnish with mint leaves
  20. Serve hot with rice or roti
