Chilli Idli

Ingredients to make Chilli Idli

  • Left over Idlis
  • oil for frying
  • For batter :
  • Little cornflour
  • salt
  • water
  • For chilli masala:
  • oil
  • garlic
  • curry leaves
  • 1 onion DICED
  • 1/2 capsicum diced
  • 2 slit green chillies
  • 2 teaspoon tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chilli sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon soya sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • Little honey

How to make Chilli Idli

  1. In a bowl add cornflour, salt and water and prepare a batter (bonda batter consistency).
  2. Cut the Idlies in the shape you want. Dip it in the prepared batter and drop it in hot oil and fry it till crisp. Remove it on a tissue and drain out excess oil.
  3. In a pan add little oil. Add in garlic and curry leaves. Fry it. Add onions, capsicum, green chili and fry till soft.
  4. Now add all the sauces, salt, pepper and honey. Mix well.
  5. Add in the fried Idlies and mix well very gently. Finally add coriander leaves and serve hot.

My Tip:

Alter the amount of sauces as per your liking.
