Fara is an traditional dish for UP and bihar,it is an healthy dish made with rice flour we call it dadi amma ka momos.Today i made it with rava stuffing it with fried onions

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. For dough- Rava 1/2 cup
  2. Water 1 cup
  3. Oil 2 tsp
  4. Salt 1/2tsp
  5. For stuffing- chopped onion 2 big size
  6. Boiled and mashed potatoes 1 medion size
  7. Green peas 1 tbsp
  8. Chopped Green Chillies 2
  9. Chopped garlic cloves 4
  10. Musturd seeds 1/4 tsp
  11. Red chilli powder 1/4 tsp
  12. Dry coriander powder 1 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. For tempering - oil 1 tbsp
  15. musturd seeds 1 tsp
  16. Asafoetida 1 pinch
  17. few curry leaves
  18. 5 - 6 green chillies chopped from middle

Instructions

  1. Take a kadhai add water and boil it
  2. Add rava ,oil and salt
  3. Mix it on medium flame regularly till it became dry as a dough
  4. Kneed a soft dough
  5. Keep it aside
  6. Again in kadhai heat oil add musturd seeds , green chillies,garlic cloves,onion
  7. Fry it till golden colour
  8. Add green peas,red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt
  9. Cover it for 2 minutes
  10. Add mashed potatoes
  11. Mix it well
  12. Off the flame
  13. Make small balls from rava dough
  14. Make it in katori shape with your hands and fill a small quantity of onion mixture in it
  15. Sealed it in ball shape
  16. Now take a big pan and heat 2 litre of water in it
  17. When it started boiling take a plate with holes and grease it
  18. Cover the pan with this plate
  19. Add the balls into it
  20. Cover it
  21. Steamed it for 10 minutes
  22. After 10 minutes it is ready for tempering
  23. For tempering heat oil in kadhai,add musturd seeds, asafoetida, green chillies and curry leaves
  24. Add steamed balls into it and mix it
  25. Off the flame and serve hot with curry or sauce
