Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 6 litres
  2. 300 grams rice ada (easily available in super market)
  3. 10 glasses hot water
  4. 1 tin milkmaid
  5. 200 gms sugar
  6. 1 pinch kesar.


  1. Soak rice ada in hot water for 15 minutes and then drain the water completely. Wash the ada under running water and keep it aside.
  2. Now in a heavy bottomed pan add 5 litres of milk and let it boil.
  3. In other utensil, boil 1 litre milk and let it boil.
  4. Once the 1 litre milk is boiled and reduced to half, add sugar, milkmaid and boil it further till it is light brown.
  5. Add this milk into the 5 litres of milk along with the cooked ada and let it boil further by constantly stirring it till it is nice and thick.
  6. Finally add saffron strands, mix well and serve warm or chilled.
