ABOUT Chocolate Payes RECIPE

Payes or Payasam is one of the Bengali authentic dishes. Bengali emotions are connected with it. In our household on Birthdays we all must have and quot; and quot; Maa er hater payes and quot; and quot;.By eating which we start our celebration. It is something very close to my heart and i have used chocolate for a twist.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Gobindo vog chal (rice) - 100 grams
  2. Rich Cow Milk or Amul Milk- 1 litre
  3. Sugar- 7-8 tablespoon
  4. Jaggery or Gur - 4 tablespoon
  5. Amul Condensed Milk- 4 tablespoon
  6. Cadbury Chocolate - 1 medium size melted (may use dark)
  7. Raisins - 16 numbers

Instructions

  1. First pour milk in a pan. Let it boil on full heat.
  2. Now soak the raisins in water for few minutes.
  3. In the meantime wash the rice thoroughly and soak it also in a very little amount of water.
  4. After 10-15 minutes the milk will reduce in volume and will become more thick.
  5. Now add the soaked rice into it.
  6. Add the raisins. Let it simmer.
  7. Wait for 10 minutes till the rice soaks milk and becomes fluffy.
  8. Now lower the heat, add sugar, jaggery and melted chocolate to it.
  9. Switch off the gas. Give it a good stir so that all the ingredients mix together very well.
  10. Its ready to serve. You can eat it as a dessert or with roti also. Or it itself is a whole belly-filling meal.You can also have it as chilled.
