ABOUT Methi Curd Sambar RECIPE

Healthy methi leaves used for making the sambar. Methi leaves helps reduce menstrual discomforts. Good for skin, digestion, controls sugar levels. Use methi once or twice a week. Mouth watering taste. Try it out once.You will definitely love and prepare it again and again.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 bunch methi leaves
  2. 1/2 litre curd
  3. water
  4. To Grind:
  5. 5 green chillies
  6. 5 tablespoon coconut
  7. 1/2 inch ginger
  8. 10 garlic pods
  9. pinch of turmeric
  10. 10 - 12 pepper corns
  11. 1 teaspoon jeera
  12. coriander leaves
  13. For Tempering:
  14. 1 teaspoon ghee
  15. little mustard
  16. curry leaves
  17. 2 red chilli
  18. 1 small onion chopped
  19. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Grind all the ingredients to a smooth paste under section "to grind".
  2. In a pan add ghee. Heat it. Add mustard. Once it splutters, add jeera.
  3. Now add onion. Fry until it becomes soft. Now add curry leaves and red chilli. Fry.
  4. Now add washed and finely chopped methi leaves. Fry till nice aroma comes out.
  5. Now add the grinded paste. Add little water (only to cook the masala), salt and bring to boil. Cook for 10 - 15 minutes.
  6. Allow it to cool completely.
  7. Now in a bowl add curd, little water and whisk nicely.
  8. Once masala is cooled, add in the whisked curd and mix well. (Do not heat it again).
  9. Serve immediately.
