Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1+1/2 litre full fat creamy milk
  2. 1/2 cup small sized rice
  3. 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 1/2 cup milk powder
  5. 1 teaspoon ghee
  6. 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  7. 2 tablespoon silvered soaked and skinned almonds
  8. 8 to 10 pieces of raisins
  9. other nuts per choice
  10. few rose petals


  1. Wash and soak rice for fifteen minutes.
  2. In the meantime let the milk boil on medium flame in a heavy bottomed vessel.
  3. Then add the rice in boiling milk, keep stirring continuously while boiling.
  4. After ten minutes add milk powder in the milk along with cardamom seeds and let it boil.
  5. In the other vessel heat ghee add sugar and let it melt with continuous stirring till it has achieved brown caramelized colour.
  6. Immediately switch off the flame and add this caramelized sugar to the milk.
  7. Mix sugar properly in the milk, add raisins and half almonds. Keep the rest for garnishing.
  8. When you got desired thickness of kheer switch off the flame.
  9. Serve hot or cool as per choice with almonds and rose petals.
