ABOUT Chocolate Walnut Cake RECIPE

A simple delicious chocolate walnut cake with chocolate ganache glaze for kids. Its moist and fudgy and can also be made for kids birthday party.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. For chocolate cake: 1 cup all purpose flour
  2. 1 cup powdered sugar
  3. 100 grams butter
  4. 3 eggs
  5. 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  6. 1 tsp Baking powder
  7. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  8. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  9. 1/4 cup Milk
  10. 1/3 cup walnuts
  11. For chocolate ganache: 1 cup heavy cream
  12. 2 tbsp Butter
  13. 1 cup choco chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven at 180°C and grease the cake tin with butter and dust with some flour.
  2. In a mixing bowl beat together butter and powdered sugar till the mixture gets light in colour.
  3. Add eggs one by one and beat well after adding each egg.
  4. Beat till the eggs are fluffy and light.
  5. Next add in vanilla extract and whisk again for 30 seconds.
  6. Seive together flour, cocoa powder and baking powder into the butter sugar mixture.
  7. Add in roughly chopped walnuts and mix everything following cut and fold method.
  8. Add milk to adjust the consistency of the batter and mix again using cut and fold method.
  9. Pour the prepared batter in greased cake tin.
  10. Tap the cake tin on the surface to make it even layer from all sides.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven for 30-35 minutes at 180°C. (Check after 25 minutes)
  12. Take out tin from the oven carefully, insert a toothpick if it comes out clean the cake is cooked.
  13. Let the cake cool down completely and meanwhile prepare the chocolate ganache.
  14. Heat a pan on low flame add heavy cream and butter. Let the mixture gets warm.
  15. In a mixing bowl add choco chips, pour over the warmed cream butter mixture on the choco chips.
  16. Allow the mixture to stand for 5 minutes to soften the choco chips.
  17. Mix it well untill smooth.
  18. Pour over the prepared chocolate ganache over the cake once it's cooled down.
  19. Garnish with some walnuts and choco chips, cut in slices and Serve!
