ABOUT stuffed idli RECIPE

south indian recipe with north Indian feeling( mashed potato filling).

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. rice 3 cup
  2. Urad daal 1 cup
  3. methi 1 teaspoon
  4. sugar 1 teaspoon
  5. Salt 1 teaspoon
  6. Oil 2 teaspoon
  7. For stuffing
  8. Boiled potatoes 5
  9. Green chilli 2
  10. fine chopped green coriander
  11. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. soak rice,urad,methi together for 8 to 9 hrs
  2. grind them and make smooth batter
  3. add sugar,salt and oil.mix well
  4. cover the batter and keep it for fermentation for 10 hrs or overnight
  5. for stuffing,mashed the potatoes,salt,chilli and coriander leaves together
  6. grease the idli stand with oil
  7. pour 1 tablespoon batter on idli stand ,now 1/2 tablespoon mashed potato then again 1 tablespoon batter
  8. heat 1 glass water in cooker put the idli stand in cooker
  9. cover the cooker( remove the gasket and whistle)
  10. steam it for 15 mnts
