This is traditional Maharashtrian sweet, mainly made on Special occasion

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Bengal gram 1 and 1/2 bowl
  2. Sugar 1 bowl
  3. ghee 1/2 cup
  4. Wheat flour 1 cup
  5. Water as required


  1. Wash and soak the Dal for 60-80 min
  2. Add the Dal in pressure cooker and cook for 4-5 whistles. Dal is cooked but not mushy
  3. Now press the Dal and drain the water
  4. In a pan add 4-5 spoon ghee and heat it add Dal and mix well
  5. Keep stirring and add sugar after some time
  6. It will start to thicken up, stirring continue
  7. Add a pinch of yellow colour and cardamom powder
  8. When the mix comes as non sticky it is ready
  9. Mix flour and oil and rub it,make a Dough with water
  10. Take a ball from Dough and fill it with pooran of Dal
  11. Dust little flour and roll it gently
  12. Heat the skillet. Place poli and let it cook on both sides, smear some ghee on it
  13. Flip and cook from other side
  14. If cook from both sides shift it to a plate. Serve hot with some ghee on top
