Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Red pumpkin 1/4 kg
  2. onions 2 small
  3. garlic Cloves 4-5
  4. ghee / Butter / Clarified Butter 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Black pepper Powder to taste
  6. salt to Taste


  1. Wash, Peel and Chop Red Pumpkin in thin slices about 2 inch by 1 inch .Give 2 cross slits to onions
  2. Cook onions and garlic cloves in microwave oven for 30 seconds on High. Stop the microwave and cook it again for 30 seconds. Onions and garlic will now be soft. Roasted onions are little sweet. We need this taste for soup.
  3. Peel onions and cut into 4 pieces each. Peel garlic.
  4. In a pan, heat ghee / butter / clarified butter. Add pumpkin slices, onions and garlic.
  5. Sauté on medium flame till you see brown spots on Pumpkin slices.
  6. Turn off the flame and let ingredients cool
  7. Blend all ingredients in a blender to get smooth paste; add water if required while blending
  8. Transfer the paste to a pan; add water to get soup consistency. This soup is quite thick. Let the mixture cook for 10-15 minutes
  9. Add Salt, black pepper powder and serve hot.
