Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Bottle gourd grated 1 kg
  2. Pure ghee 1/4 cup
  3. Green cardamom 1
  4. cloves 2
  5. Milk 1/2 litre
  6. sugar 1 cup
  7. Grated coconut 1 cup
  8. Khoya 1 cup
  9. almond for garnish
  10. Green cardamom seeds for garnish


  1. Wash and peel off the skin of bottle-gourd and remove the seeds and grate it with the help of kaddu- kas.
  2. Heat the wok or pan with ghee and sauté with cardamom green and cloves then add grated bottle-gourd.
  3. Cook it on medium heat for about 5-6 minutes or till ghee shows separately. Add grated coconut and stir for 30 seconds.
  4. Add sugar and milk and let it cook till the milk is reduce by half .
  5. Add khoya and mix it well. Cook it on high heat till it becomes sticky in texture or completely dry.
  6. Take a big tray and greased with ghee and pour the mixture. Spread it with the help of spatula and form it in square shape.
  7. Let it completely cool and cut it into square shape as shown below in the picture. Garnish with almond and cardamom seeds and treat yourself.
