Mushroom Masala(South Indian style)

Ingredients to make Mushroom Masala(South Indian style)

  • Button mushrooms - 400 gms
  • onion - 2 big ones cut into small pieces
  • Tomato - 2 cut similarly like onions
  • ginger - half inch piece finely chopped(1 tspn)
  • garlic - 2 to 3 cloves crushed & chopped fine
  • turmeric pwdr - half tspn
  • red chilly powder - 1 tspn ( adjust to taste ) I used Kashmiri chilly pwdr
  • Rasam pwdr - 3 to 4 tspns ( adjust to taste )
  • salt to taste
  • olive oil - 1 tbspn
  • coriander leaves for garnish

How to make Mushroom Masala(South Indian style)

  1. Take a Pan heat it....when hot add oil....and then when hot....add the chopped onions & saute well....
  2. Then add the chopped ginger & garlic.... fry well till it leaves the raw smell...
  3. Add the dry masalas & salt and cook for a few minutes....sprinkle little drops of water or the masalas get burnt .
  4. Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook for a few more minutes.....
  5. When it gets cooked... add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5 to 8 minutes...
  6. This will give out water... Be careful not to break the mushrooms while mixing it.... See that it gets coated well....with the masalas...
  7. When the mushrooms are cooked properly..... turn off the gas and garnish with coriander leaves...
  8. Serve hot with rotis or rice .... Enjoy Mushroom Masala.... Here I served this curry.... with Ragi roti..... :relaxed:
