Mango Rice

Ingredients to make Mango Rice

  • Green mango -1 (peeled and grated)
  • 1 cup of rice
  • urad dal - 1 teaspoon
  • chana dal- 1 teaspoon
  • Red chillies- 2
  • Green chilli -1
  • A pinch of Hing (asafoetida)
  • mustard seeds -1 teaspoon
  • A pinch of turmeric (Haldi)
  • salt to taste
  • 1 and 1/2 Tablespoon Cooking oil

How to make Mango Rice

  1. Wash rice and pressure cook it.
  2. In a pan add oil. Let it heat.
  3. Add urad dal, chana dal, mustard seeds.
  4. After it splutters add red chillies and slit green chilli and hing
  5. Turn off the heat. Take the pan off the stove.
  6. After the rice cools down add haldi, salt, grated green mango and the tempering.
  7. If you like, you can add curry leaves as well.
