ABOUT Flattened Rice(Poha) Bhel RECIPE

Flattened rice also known as poha is a rice which is flattened into light dry flakes. They can absorb any type of liquid, for example water or milk. The flakes are an easily digestible form of raw rice, which is very popular across India, Nepal and Bangladesh. Masala flattened rice can be prepared instantly with common ingredients and can be a good evening snack that you can serve with tea.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. One bowl of flattened rice(POHA)
  2. One chopped tomato
  3. One chopped onion
  4. One grated carrot
  5. Few peanuts,cashews and sesame seeds
  6. A teaspoon red chilli powder
  7. A teaspoon coriander powder
  8. A pinch of chat masala
  9. Salt as per your taste
  10. Half a teaspoon of lime juice
  11. A few coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. -First step is to saute flattened rice and roast the nuts
  2. - Take a pan and add teaspoon of oil.Lightly saute the flattened rice for few minutes
  3. -Remove the flattened rice and add peanuts,cashews and sesame seeds to same pan and lightly roast them till they change little color.
  4. -Next step is to add chopped tomatoes ,chopped onions and grated carrot to sauted poha(flattened rice)
  5. - Add a pinch of chat masala,coriander powder,red chilli powder and as much salt as you like
  6. -Finally add roasted nuts and chopped coriander leaves
  7. -Squeeze lime juice and serve immediately with a cup of tea
