ABOUT Macaroni Au Gratin RECIPE

This macaroni recipe has a chessy and gooey texture that is the essence of this dish.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 200 grams macaroni
  2. 30 grams all-purpose flour
  3. 55 grams butter
  4. 200 grams cheese
  5. 2 tbsp bread crumbs
  6. 1/2 small sized onion, finely chopped
  7. 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  8. 1/4 teaspoon mustard, grounded
  9. 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  10. 500 ml milk
  11. 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni as per the package directions and drain it. Then put it in a greased 2-qt. baking dish and keep it aside.
  2. Take a pan and melt the butter in it, then add in the flour and stir well. Gently pour in the milk and bring it to a boil.
  3. Cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring continuously. Then add the cheese, onion, worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and mustard together and cook until the cheese melts.
  4. Pour this cheesy mixture on top of the macaroni and mix it. Sprinkle the bread crumbs on top.
  5. Bake at 190° celsius for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve warm for best taste.
