Ingredients to make Pav bhaji twisted bread

  • For bread
  • all purpose flour 3 cups
  • salt 1 teaspoon
  • butter 2 tablespoon
  • Instant yeast 11/2 teaspoon
  • water as required to knead the dough
  • For pav bhaji filling
  • Boiled and grated potato 1 cup
  • Boiled vegetables ( cauliflower, peas,carrot beans, Spinach 1 cup
  • tomatoes chopped in small pieces 4
  • Green chilli chopped 2
  • salt to taste
  • Pav bhaji masala 1 teaspoon
  • butter+ 1 teaspoon oil 2 tablespoon
  • For glazing
  • Melted butter 2 tablespoon
  • Grated processed cheese 1 cup

How to make Pav bhaji twisted bread

  1. Mix all the ingredients of dough .No need to activate if using instant yeast .
  2. Make a soft dough with water.
  3. Grease a bowl and put dough in it
  4. Cover with cling wrap and let it rise till it becomes double.
  5. For bhaji
  6. In a pan add oil and butter add .
  7. Then add tomato and pao bhaji masala.
  8. Add salt to taste and chopped green chilli
  9. Cook for few mins .
  10. Then add boiled and grated potato and boiled and mashed vegetable.
  11. Cook for few minutes and and make a dry mixtures
  12. Let it cool .
  13. Divide the dough in two parts .
  14. Roll in two big roti.
  15. Put one roti on lined baking tin.
  16. Spread half cheese on one roti then add dried pao bhaji mixture. Spread it evenly
  17. Again sprinkle remaining cheese.
  18. Cover with another roti.
  19. Place a small round cookie cutter in centre.
  20. First divide circle in 4 parts. Then again make division of each part.
  21. Now twist each part.
  22. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degree centigrade for 20 minutes
  23. Brush it with melted butter and again bake for 10 minutes at 220 degree centigrade
  24. Cool it and serve.

My Tip:

Make dry mixture of pao bhaji otherwise it will bulge out while baking
