Banana stem is a healthy vegetable. It prevents stone formation inside our body by removing foreign particles. It cleans our digestive system.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Banana stem cut into small cubes 1 cup
  2. yoghurt 1 cup
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Mustard seed 1 tablespoon
  5. chana dal 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Curry leaves 2 sprigs
  7. Urad dal 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Dry red chilli 2 whole

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the banana stem. Cut roundels and remove the messy web like string in between.
  2. Now cut them into small cubes.
  3. Boil water with little turmeric powder.
  4. Add the stems and cover.
  5. Cook till soft.
  6. Remove from water and squeeze out excess water.
  7. Beat the curd add salt and the cooked stem. Mix well and keep aside.
  8. Heat a little oil.
  9. Add mustard seed. When they crackle add dry red chili toor dal,chana dal and curry leaves. Remove from heat.
  10. Add this tadka to the curd mixture and cover for five minutes.
  11. Serve as a side dish with Plain rice dal and Sabzi.
