Dal-Squash Kofta Curry

Ingredients to make Dal-Squash Kofta Curry

  • masoor dal 1 Cup
  • ghee 2 tablespoon
  • ginger Paste 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped chillies 1 tablespoon
  • 1 medium sized Squash
  • paneer 100 g
  • 2 medium sized onions
  • flour 4 tablespoons
  • turmeric Powder 1 tablespoon
  • chilli Powder 1 1/2 tablespoon
  • jeera Seeds 1/2 tablespoon
  • coriander Seeds 1/2 tablespoon
  • methi Seeds 1/4 tablespoon
  • fennel seeds 1/4 tablespoon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 nos. of cardamom
  • 2 cloves
  • sugar 1/4 tablespoon
  • salt to taste

How to make Dal-Squash Kofta Curry

  1. For koftas Soak the Dal for about 1 hour and then grind into a thick paste.
  2. Grate the squash and onion.
  3. Grab a bowl and mix up the Dal, Paneer, flour, half tablespoon onions, half tablespoon chopped chillies, and half tablespoon ginger paste.
  4. Make small balls out of the mix and dip them in the pan for frying.
  5. Soak the oil out after taking them out of the pan.
  6. For Gravy Heat 2 tablespoon s of vegetable oil in pan.
  7. Add one bay leaf along with the seeds and the cardamom, cloves and cinnamon sticks
  8. Add rest of the chopped onions and chopped chillies.
  9. Try for a few seconds and add ginger paste, turmeric powder and chilli powder.
  10. Add 1 1/2 cup of water.
  11. Smash 2-3 balls of koftas and add them to the Gravy and cook for two minutes.
  12. Add the rest of the kofta balls.
  13. Cook for about 1 min.
  14. Add the ghee and enjoy the delicious kofta curry with some rice.
