ABOUT Dal-Squash Kofta Curry RECIPE

A lip-smacking curry made from dal and squash. One bite and you will want to have more.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Masoor Dal 1 Cup
  2. Ghee 2 tablespoon
  3. Ginger Paste 1 tablespoon
  4. Chopped Chillies 1 tablespoon
  5. 1 medium sized Squash
  6. Paneer 100 g
  7. 2 medium sized Onions
  8. Flour 4 tablespoons
  9. Turmeric Powder 1 tablespoon
  10. Chilli Powder 1 1/2 tablespoon
  11. Jeera Seeds 1/2 tablespoon
  12. Coriander Seeds 1/2 tablespoon
  13. Methi Seeds 1/4 tablespoon
  14. Fennel Seeds 1/4 tablespoon
  15. 1 cinnamon stick
  16. 2 nos. of Cardamom
  17. 2 Cloves
  18. Sugar 1/4 tablespoon
  19. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. For koftas Soak the Dal for about 1 hour and then grind into a thick paste.
  2. Grate the squash and onion.
  3. Grab a bowl and mix up the Dal, Paneer, flour, half tablespoon onions, half tablespoon chopped chillies, and half tablespoon ginger paste.
  4. Make small balls out of the mix and dip them in the pan for frying.
  5. Soak the oil out after taking them out of the pan.
  6. For Gravy Heat 2 tablespoon s of vegetable oil in pan.
  7. Add one bay leaf along with the seeds and the cardamom, cloves and cinnamon sticks
  8. Add rest of the chopped onions and chopped chillies.
  9. Try for a few seconds and add ginger paste, turmeric powder and chilli powder.
  10. Add 1 1/2 cup of water.
  11. Smash 2-3 balls of koftas and add them to the Gravy and cook for two minutes.
  12. Add the rest of the kofta balls.
  13. Cook for about 1 min.
  14. Add the ghee and enjoy the delicious kofta curry with some rice.

Methi seeds and fennel seeds are adding an amazing flavor to this.
