ABOUT Baalushahi RECIPE

This is a sweet which is popular not onlt in India but also in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.it also called Badusha in South India. It's similar to glazed donuts but its taste is not like donuts. It's a mouth melting sweet delicacy

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Multi purpose flour 2cup
  2. Ghee 2tbs
  3. Baking powder 1/2tsp
  4. Salt 1/4tsp
  5. Curd (fresh)4 tbs
  6. Ghee for frying
  7. For sugar syrup
  8. Sugar 2cup
  9. Water 1cup
  10. Cardamom powder 2tsp

Instructions

  1. Add ghee, multi purpose flour,salt, baking powder,curd and water and make a soft daugh like roti dough.keep aside for 20minutes.
  2. In a pan boil water with sugar. Boil till you get 2strings. Off the flame and add cardamom powder. Keep aside.
  3. Take a tennis ball size dough and roll it like a ball and press the middle portion of it. make all like this.
  4. Heat ghee in a pan. Fry all Balushai on a midium flame till golden brown.
  5. Keep out all the baalushahi on an absorbent paper. Let the balushahi cool down on a room temperature.
  6. Dip these Balushai in hot sugar syrup for 20-40 minutes.
  7. Now Balushai ready to serve.
  8. Garnish with silver balls and blanched almonds.
