ABOUT Soya Keema Burger Patties RECIPE

Here are my protein packed Soya Keema patties. They have lots of vegetables covered with Poha(Rice flakes) and then shallow fried. Patty making is quiet a simple process but it’s your chance to play with the ingredients and add more health to your platter.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup soya Keema soaked in hot water for 10 minutes and then drained
  2. 3-4 medium potatoes boiled and skin removed
  3. 1 medium onion finely chopped
  4. 1 tsp fine chopped garlic
  5. 1/2 tsp fine chopped ginger
  6. 1/4 cup grated carrot
  7. 1/4 cup fine chopped french beans
  8. 1/4 cup green fine chopped capsicum
  9. 1/4 cup peas and corn kernels boiled
  10. Zest of one lemon
  11. 1/4 cup oats
  12. 1/4 cup poha
  13. 1 tsp black pepper
  14. 1 tsp chilli flakes
  15. Salt to taste
  16. A spoon of whole wheat flour to make slurry
  17. 4 tbsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan with little oil in it and add ginger, garlic. Cook them for just 10 seconds so that the raw smell goes off and add onions
  2. When the onions turn translucent add remaining vegetables and let them cook in their own steam for about 5 minutes by covering the pan
  3. In the mean time grate or mash the potatoes and add lemon zest to them
  4. When the vegetables are cooked add drained soya and spices and mix properly and cook for another 2 minutes till all the moisture is gone
  5. Now take it off the flame and let the mixture cool down. Once cooled add oats to make it a proper dough so as it is easy to bind
  6. Now make patties in size similar to your buns. And dip them in flour slurry and then covers them properly in Poha
  7. Now shallow fry the patties in little oil till the poha turns golden
  8. Your Protein packed Burger patties are ready. Assemble your burger the way you like and enjoy
