Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Moong dal- 1 cup
  2. Urad dal- 1 cup
  3. Ginger paste- 1 tsp
  4. Green chilly chopped- 3 to 4
  5. Coriander leaves chopped- 100 gm
  6. Oil for frying
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Yogurt (thick fresh)- 2 cup
  9. Black salt- 1 tbsp
  10. Red chilly powder- 1 tbsp
  11. Cumin seeds roasted- 1 tbsp
  12. Sweet tamarind chutney - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the moong dal and urad dal for 3-4 hours and grind to a fine paste.
  2. Beat the batter very well till light and fluffy.
  3. Add the salt, ginger paste, green chilly and coriander leaves in the batter.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan.
  5. Make equal size balls and deep fry it in hot oil until golden in color.
  6. Simmer it after we put all the vadas and cook in a medium flame until done.
  7. . Now take out the vadas once done into a bowl of water and let them soak for 10 minutes.
  8. . Now press the vadas so that excess water is out.
  9. Beat the yogurt and place the vadas in a serving bowl and pour the curd all over the vadas.
  10. Sprinkle red chilly powder, black salt, roasted cumin seeds and garnish with sweet tamarind chutney.
