ABOUT Fish Rendang RECIPE

Malasian/ Indonesian / thai dish, Thick fish gravy with coconut milk.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. King fish pieces 500gm
  2. For marination:-
  3. Chilli powder 2 tsp
  4. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  5. Pepper & cumin powder each half tsp
  6. Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  7. Oil 2 tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Oil to shallow fry
  10. Ingredients to make curry:-
  11. Oil 3 tbsp
  12. Onion finely chopped 3
  13. Tomato finely chopped 3
  14. Green chilli finely chopped 2
  15. Chilli powder 1 tsp
  16. Turmeric Powder 1/4 Tsp
  17. Adding coriander powder 1 tsp is optional or fish masala.
  18. Tamarind water to taste
  19. Coconut milk 1 cup
  20. Lemon juice 1 tsp(finally)
  21. Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing.

Instructions

  1. Wash several times and drain the fish. Finely chop the onion, tomato and green chillies.
  2. Marinate the fish with above said ingredients.keep aside for 15 minutes.
  3. Air fry or shallow fry the fish pieces and keep ready.
  4. Air fry is healthy.
  5. Heat oil in a panbadd chopped onion and green chilli,saute well, then add chopped tomatoes and salt to taste. Allow it to cook soft,then add chilli and turmeric powder or fish masala.
  6. Then add little tamarind water and allow it to boil.
  7. Then add fried fish pieces.
  8. Then add coconut milk.let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves. Adding 1 tsp lemon juice is optional.
  10. Serve with hot white rice or roti.
