With its stir fried cashew nuts, onion and aromatic Indian spices based creamy gravy, this popular north Indian curry of fresh green peas, fenugreek leaves and milk cream is simply irresistible.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 150 GM Fenugreek leaves ( methi)
  2. 150 gm peas ( matar)
  3. 1 cup malai
  4. 50 gm cheese
  5. 50 gm mawa
  6. 1 tbsp kasoori methi
  7. 1 tsp Salt
  8. 1/2 tsp sugar
  9. 2 tbsp Desi ghee
  10. 150 ml milk
  11. 2 onions roughly chopped
  12. 4 - 5 garlic cloves
  13. 2 green chilies
  14. 1 inch ginger
  15. 20 - 22 cashew nuts


  1. In a cooker, add 1/4 tsp salt and sugar ,water, peas and fenugreek leaves
  2. Cover and cook till they turn soft.
  3. Meanwhile boil cashew nuts in water to soften it
  4. Grind onion, garlic, green chili, ginger and boiled cashew to form smooth paste
  5. Melt desi ghee in a pan, and add ground paste
  6. Saute on low flame for 4 - 5 minutes.
  7. Add grated cheese and mawa and cook it for 2 more minutes. Now add salt and Kasoori methi to gravy,mix well
  8. Add malai and milk, mix them well and bring to boil
  9. Add cooked methi and matar, mix them well and cook till it boils
  10. Serve hot with paratha, Naan or roti.
