ABOUT Sajana Saga Muga Kharada RECIPE

It is a very healthy recipe in which drumstick leaves are cooked with moong dal.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Drumstick leaves : 1 cup (1 cup =200 ml)
  2. Moong dal : 1/2 cup
  3. Dry red chili : 1
  4. Panch phoran : 1/2 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder : 1/4th tsp
  6. Garlic : 5 to 6 cloves
  7. Oil : 2.5 tbsp.
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Separate the drumstick leaves from stems
  2. Dry roast the moong dal in a pan till it becomes golden in colour.
  3. Allow to cool completely and wash the dal in water.
  4. Cook the dal in a pressure cooker or in a pan with turmeric powder, salt and 1 cup of water till its done. Keep it aside
  5. Heat oil in a separate pan , add dry red chili and panch phoran
  6. When it starts to crackle add crushed garlic , saute until fragrant
  7. Add drumstick leaves with little salt
  8. Mix all the ingredients. cover and cook until it becomes tender
  9. Add cooked dal and mix well
  10. Cook until the curry becomes semi dry
  11. Serve hot with steamed rice.
