ABOUT Ridge Gourd Curry RECIPE

Andhra style Ridge gourd curry is a light and delicious side dish. The curry goes very well with rice or chapati.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Ridge Gourd chopped - 1 Cup
  2. Dry Coconut Powder - 2 Tbsp
  3. Chopped Green Chilies - 2
  4. Onion - 1 small size , chopped
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 Tbsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
  7. Oil - 2 tbsp
  8. salt as per taste
  9. 2 tbsp chopped Coriander and 4-5 curry leaves for garnishing


  1. Heat a kadai with oil, add chopped onion ,chopped green chilies and Curry leaves. Saute for 2 min.
  2. Add chopped ridge gourd and turmeric powder. Mix well
  3. Cover and cook for few minutes till the ridge gourd becomes soft. If required, sprinkle water and cook
  4. Add the dried coconut powder and ginger garlic paste mix well.
  5. Add salt and mix well, cook for few minutes until aromatic
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with roti or rice
