Dhaba Style Matar Paneer

Ingredients to make Dhaba Style Matar Paneer

  • 100 grams of paneer cubed
  • 1 cup fresh green peas
  • 3 big tomatoes roughly chopped
  • 2 big onions roughly chopped
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp cream or dudh ki malai
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder- adjust
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tej patta
  • 1/2 tbsp jeera
  • 3 tbsp Chopped coriander for garnish
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi

How to make Dhaba Style Matar Paneer

  1. Grind the tomatoes, onions, green chilies, garlic and ginger into paste and keep aside
  2. Heat oil in a kadai and add jeera and tej patta. Splutter cumin seeds
  3. Add the onion tomato paste and saute for 10 minutes
  4. Add spice powders and cook for 3-4 minutes. Now add green peas and cook until oil separates
  5. Now add paneer cubes and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add water as required for desired gravy consistency
  6. Add crushed kasuri method and cook for 1-2 minutes
  7. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander and serve hot with rice roti or naan
