Rice Kheer Recipe( Rice Pudding) Rice Kheer -Kheer is a rice pudding from the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent, made by boiling rice, broken wheat, tapioca, or vermicelli with milk and sugar; it is flavored with cardamom, raisins, saffron, cashews, pistachios or almonds.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 liter milk
  2. 1/2 cup Sugar
  3. 1/4 cup condensed milk
  4. 6 cardamoms
  5. Few saffron strands
  6. 1/4 cup gobind bhog rice(coarsely grinded)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice till water run clear of starch. Dry the rice completely. Grind rice coarsely and keep it aside
  2. In a heavy bottom pan, boil milk. Add sugar and mix well
  3. Once sugar dissolves, add powdered cardamom and mix well
  4. Keep stirring in interval of 5 mins. Add rice to milk and mix well
  5. simmer and cook for 20 minutes
  6. Add condensed milk and keep stirring at regular intervals.
  7. Cook until Milk has reduced by half and rice is cooked
  8. Garnish with few saffron strands and serve
