ABOUT Patrani Macchi RECIPE

It is a recipe in which the fish is steamed in green chutney and wrapped with banana leaf.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Pomfret- 3 (whole pieces with slits)
  2. Fresh coconut grated - 3 tablespoon
  3. White/black mustard- 4 teaspoon
  4. Green chilies- 2
  5. Garlic 5-6 cloves
  6. Coriander leaves- 3 tbsp chopped
  7. Mint leaves- 3 tablespoon
  8. Lemon juice- 2 teaspoon
  9. Salt- as per taste
  10. Banana leaves - 3-4
  11. Oil- 2 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish with salt and lemon juice and set aside for 10 minutes.
  2. Grind scrapped coconut, coriander leaves,mint leaves,garlic, green chilies,mustard seeds,salt to a fine thick paste.
  3. Marinate the fish with the ground paste for about 15 minutes.
  4. Take the banana leaves and place the fish in the center of the leaf and smear some of the chutney on them. Wrap it properly and tie it using thread
  5. Place the parcels inside steamer,Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes. Switch off
  6. Rest for another 5 minutes. Serve hot.
