Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Spinach – 1 Bunch chopped
  2. 3 Turnips (shalgam) – peeled, diced into cubes
  3. 2 Tomatoes - chopped
  4. 1 Onion - Sliced
  5. Salt – to taste
  6. Red Chili Powder – 1 tbsp
  7. Turmeric Powder – 3/4 tsp
  8. Coriander Powder – 3/4 tsp
  9. Ginger paste – 1/2 tsp
  10. Garlic paste – 1 tsp (optional)
  11. Cumin Seeds – 3/4 tsp
  12. Green/Red Chilies – 3 Slit
  13. Oil – 2 tbsp
  14. Fresh Coriander leaves – 2-3 tbsp (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter cumin seeds
  2. Add sliced onions and saute until translucent
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste and saute it for a minute
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and coriander powder.
  5. Cover and cook for another 2 minutes until tender
  6. Add turnips, mix it well .Cover and cook on low flame till 70% done
  7. Add chopped spinach, green/red chilies and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well, cover it and cook over low heat till oil gets separated.
  8. Serve hot with chapatis or naan.
