ABOUT Apple Tikka Saag Masala RECIPE

It's my new innovation with saag. Commonly mushrooms, panner tikka etc are only made but today I tried something new i. e. APPLE TIKKA and it's combination with saag is truly very unique and the taste is even too awesome.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Spinach, 1 kg
  2. Chickpea saag, 250 gm
  3. Curd, 1 cup
  4. Apple,1
  5. Onions, 2 chopped
  6. Tomato, 3
  7. Garlic, 5-6 cloves chopped
  8. Ginger, 1 inch piece, chopped
  9. Turmeric powder, 1 tsp
  10. Red chili powder, 1+1/2 tsp
  11. Coriander powder, 1 tsp
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Cardamom powder+Cloves powder, 1/2 tsp
  14. Maize flour, 1 tsp
  15. Smoky tikka mayonnaise, 1+1/2 tsp
  16. Desi ghee, 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook spinach and chickpea saag with 1/2 inch ginger and 3 garlic cloves for 1 whistle. Ground tomatoes to smooth puree and keep it aside
  2. Once cooled grind leaves with 1/2 cup curd to smooth paste
  3. Heat ghee in non stick pan. Add garlic, ginger, onion and cook until onions are light brown.
  4. Add tomato puree and saute for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add turmeric powder, Red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, cardamom powder, cloves powder and mix well. Saute for 1 minute
  6. Now add ground green paste to it, remaining curd, maize flour and mix everything well. Simmer and cook on slow flame for around 10 minutes. Stir in between.
  7. Core and chop apples in pieces. Dry roast apples on non stick pan until light brown.
  8. Now add smoky tikka mayonnaise and coat apples well with mayo. Saute for 1-2 minutes
  9. Add cooked saag to serving dish , then add roasted apple tikkas on top. Serve hot and enjoy.
