Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pomfret 2 medium sized cleaned
  2. Red chillies 10
  3. Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  4. Lime juice 1 tsp
  5. Cornflour 1 tsp
  6. Salt accordingly
  7. Butter / oil for brushing
  8. Onion 1
  9. Green chillies 2


  1. Wash the pomfrets well and drain the water.
  2. Make 2 horizontal slit over the fish for better masala absorption
  3. Marinate it with lime juice and salt for 15 minutes
  4. In the meanwhile soak the red chillies in hot water for 15 minutes
  5. In a blender add the red chillies, ginger garlic paste,corn flour and very little water and grind to a smooth paste.
  6. Apply this red chilli paste over the marinated pomfrets well and marinate again for 2 hrs
  7. Now cook the pomfrets in a gas tandoor for 15 minutes by turning the sides once and brush with butter or oil while cooking.
  8. Serve hot with sliced onions and green chillies
  9. This can be done as a Tawa fry also
