Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 kilograms chopped,washed fish
  2. 3 teaspoon powdered turmeric
  3. 3 tablespoon ginger, garlic, red chilli paste
  4. 1 tablespoon cornflour
  5. 2 tablespoon gramflour(besan)
  6. 3 cup mustard oil
  7. Salt to taste


  1. Wash the fish thoroughly under running water. Pat dry and keep aside in a strainer till the water drains out.
  2. Add all the ingredients (except oil) to the fish and mix well. Keep aside for half an hour.
  3. Now heat oil in a heavy-bottomed vessel and deep fry the fish pieces one by one, keeping the flame low.
  4. Drain the fried fish pieces and place on an absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot with green chutney.
