ABOUT Dalia Pulao / Daliya Upma RECIPE

Dalia is considered to be one of the simplest and healthiest foods, low in fat and cholesterol, high in iron ,fibre, good in carbs and delicious one pot meal . Often recommended to kids or people recovering from illness.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cup Dalia
  2. 4 cup water
  3. 2 cup Chopped veggies( Green peas,carrots, French beans, onion, green chillies,capsicum , bellpepper ,cabbage)
  4. 2 tablespoon ghee
  5. 1 teaspoon mustard seed
  6. 2-3 Cloves
  7. 4-5 Black pepper
  8. 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  9. 1 tablespoon Salt
  10. 1 handful chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Roast dalia with 1 tbsp ghee in Kadhai on low flame till it turns aromatic.
  2. Heat ghee in the pressure cooker, add mustard seed, pepper, cumin seeds and cloves to it .
  3. When it starts crackling add all chopped vegetables and sauté it for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add water salt to it.When water starts boiling add roasted Dalia to it and mix it nicely.
  5. Close the pressure cooker lead and let it cook for 1 whistle.
  6. Once the vegetables and broken wheat is properly cooked, turn off the flame and transfer the Daliya Upma in a serving bowl.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot .
