ABOUT Wheat Upma(Dalia Upma) RECIPE

Healthy and Light dish, Full of fiber. Made in jiffy. Good for kids and weight watchers. My kid is fussy about eating vegetables so this dish is a blessing for me.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Broken Wheat (Dalia)- 1 cup
  2. Carrots- 3 small
  3. Beetroot- 1 medium
  4. Tomato- 1 medium
  5. Onion- 1 medium
  6. Garlic- 3 pods
  7. Peanuts- 2 tbsp
  8. Drumstick- 1 no.
  9. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  10. cumin- 1 tsp
  11. Urad dal- 1 tbsp
  12. Asafoetida- a pinch
  13. Salt- as required
  14. Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
  15. red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  16. Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  17. Water- 3 cups
  18. Ghee- 1 tbsp
  19. Corriander and Fresh coconut

Instructions

  1. Take ghee and add mustard seeds. Once it splutters add cumin, urad dal and asafoetida.
  2. Add Wheat dalia and roast till it turns pink.
  3. Now saute onion and garlic till raw smell goes.
  4. Add all other veggies and peanuts.
  5. Put turmeric powder, red chili, coriander powder and salt.
  6. Add water and pressure cook for 5-6 whistles. Garnish with coriander and coconut.
