ABOUT Murmura Chivda..(Puffed Rice Mixture) RECIPE

MY INNOVATIVE IDEA FOR ALL THE LOVELY KIDS OUT THERE. A YUMMYLICIOUS SNACK THAT IS NOT ONLY HEALTHY BUT ALSO QUITE A FILLING ONE. STIR FRIED WITH SOME SIMPLE SPICES AND LOTS OF DRY FRUITS THAT MAKE IT HEALTHY TO HAVE AS A SNACK AT TEA-TIME OR AN AFTERSCHOOL ONE. AN AWESOME TIFFIN BOX IDEA TOO. ENJOY THIS HEALTHY AND A WHOLESOME SNACK.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Puffed rice 5 to 6 cups
  2. Red chilli powder or flakes 1 tbsp
  3. Salt to taste (rock salt or plain salt)
  4. Dry fruits like cashews, almonds, hazelnuts and pistachios 1 cup
  5. Peanuts 1 cup
  6. Mustard oil or any oil 3 tbsp
  7. Chaat masala 2 tbsp
  8. Anardana Powder 1 tsp
  9. OR
  10. Dry mango powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a big vessel, heat oil, add curry leaves first.
  2. Then add peanuts and the chilli flakes or powder. After peanuts are roasted well, add the puffed rice.
  3. Mix well and let it roast on low flame until crispy for about 4 to 5 minutes. Keep stirring in between.
  4. Sprinkle chaat masala and anardana (pomegranate powder) on top and mix well. That's it. It is all done.
  5. To make it more appealing to the kids, i served them in capsi baskets. Kids as well as adults will love to have these as a munchie.
