Ingredients to make Hari murg

  • chicken - 1 kg washed and cleaned
  • spinach - 1 cup
  • fenugreek leaves - 1 cup
  • ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsps
  • onion - 1 cup chopped
  • red chillies - 2
  • water - 1 cup
  • spices :
  • cloves - 4
  • red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil

How to make Hari murg

  1. Puree the blanched spinach and methi leaves together.
  2. Add 5 tbsps oil to a deep sauce pan
  3. Add the red chillies followed by chopped onions and cloves.
  4. Stir fry till transperant
  5. Add in the ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute
  6. Now as the chicken peices and mix well
  7. Add the spice powders except the garam masala powder and stir fry for few more minutes
  8. Add the spinach methi puree and garam masala powder. Add salt for seasoning, water and simmer further half covered till chicken is tender and cooked.
