Make this yummy chicken dish for your Christmas party or new year eve. The delicious green gravy made with spinach and fenugreek puree which is my secret combination makes a lovely saucy chicken to go with parathas, pulavs or hot steam rice. So let the gala start.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Chicken - 1 kg washed and cleaned
  2. Spinach - 1 cup
  3. Fenugreek leaves - 1 cup
  4. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsps
  5. Onion - 1 cup chopped
  6. Red Chillies - 2
  7. Water - 1 cup
  8. Spices :
  9. Cloves - 4
  10. Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  11. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  12. Garam masala powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  13. Salt to taste
  14. oil


  1. Puree the blanched spinach and methi leaves together.
  2. Add 5 tbsps oil to a deep sauce pan
  3. Add the red chillies followed by chopped onions and cloves.
  4. Stir fry till transperant
  5. Add in the ginger garlic paste and fry for a minute
  6. Now as the chicken peices and mix well
  7. Add the spice powders except the garam masala powder and stir fry for few more minutes
  8. Add the spinach methi puree and garam masala powder. Add salt for seasoning, water and simmer further half covered till chicken is tender and cooked.
