Ingredients to make Samosa

  • 1 cup flour (Maida)
  • 1/2 cup Peas boiled
  • 3-4 Potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 1-2 Green Chilies chopped
  • 1/2tsp ginger chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  • 1/2 Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Dry mango powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • water as required
  • salt to taste
  • oil

How to make Samosa

  1. In a bowl, mix maida, salt, ajwain, and 1 tbsp oil. Add water and knead it into a dough.
  2. Keep the dough aside covered with a moist cloth for 15 mins.
  3. In a pan, heat oil , add cumin seeds, ginger and all the spices. Cook for a few seconds.
  4. Add mashed potatoes and peas and cook for another 5 mins.
  5. Remove the mixture from heat and allow it to cool down.
  6. Make small spheres from dough. Roll them into small circles.
  7. Cut the circles into two semi circles. Brush water on the edges of semi circle.
  8. Join the edges to make a hollow cone.
  9. Stuff the mixture in the cone and seal it.Shape and fill all the samosas this way.
  10. Heat oil in the frying pan, and fry the samosas till golden brown.
  11. Serve hot with chutney.
