ABOUT Hyderabadi Til Imli Ka Khatta... RECIPE

An amazingly done fantastic side dish or an accompaniment to the famous khichdi from the city of Hyderabad. This is called khatta which has all raw ingredients and is absolutely a no cook recipe. A tangy, super yummy accompaniment that you will just love. It is easy to make as well. Enjoy this for a perfect sunday lunch. However in the city, it is often served even for a breakfast too.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Sesame seeds roasted and powdered 1/4th cup
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Tamarind water 2 cups
  4. Green chillies slit 3 to 4
  5. Coriander leaves chopped 3 tbsp
  6. Onions sliced raw 2

Instructions

  1. Soak a large lime sized tamarind in about a cup of hot water.
  2. After about 10 minutes of soaking, squeeze out the pulp.
  3. Add about 2 to 3 cups of water to it.
  4. Stir in the rest of the ingredients too.
  5. Add the powdered sesame seeds also and mix well.
  6. That's it. All ready and done.
  7. Serve this khatta with khichdi, papad and kheema.
