ABOUT Bengali traditional Triangle Parota RECIPE

It’s a basic plain Parantha, made triangle in shape and cooked in ghee and served hot with any curries the family likes. This parantha is adored at every Bengali household

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour 2 cups
  2. Oil 2 tbsn
  3. Ghee 1 Tb + as needed for folding
  4. Cumin seeds 1 tbn
  5. Water 3/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Take all the ingredients in a dry bowl except water and mix well.
  2. Then add water to make a smooth pliable dough.
  3. Keep aside for 30mins
  4. Knead it once and roll into lemon sized balls.
  5. Using a chapathi roller roll out to a thin circle then add few drops of ghee and spread over evenly
  6. Then fold to a semicircle(half),apply and spread ghee evenly. Then fold it again to form a triangle.
  7. Roll it to a thin roti or to desired thickeness, dust flour if it sticks
  8. Heat tawa and add the roti carefully. Once bubbles starts appearing turn to other side,. Cook on both sides till brown spots starts appearing.
  9. Serve with any curry of your choice or with onion raita.
