ABOUT Aaloo Matar Kheema... RECIPE

An absolutely must have recipe on every other day for breakfast or brunch. It is easily made and tastes yummy with chapatis or parathas. Green peas and potatoes are cooked along with lamb mince using mild spices. This can be had even with plain rice and khatti daal.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Lamb mince 400 gm
  2. Potatoes cubed 2
  3. Green peas fresh ones 200 gm
  4. Onions sliced 2
  5. Oil 4 tbsp
  6. Green chillies chopped 3
  7. Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  8. Coriander powder 1 tsp
  9. Cumin powder 1 tsp
  10. Salt 1 tbsp
  11. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  12. Garam masala 1 tsp to sprinkle on top
  13. Coriander leaves chopped 1/4th cup

Instructions

  1. Wash and drain the mince in a colander.
  2. In a cooking pot, heat oil.
  3. Add green chillies and ginger garlic paste.
  4. Saute for a minute and then add the sliced onions.
  5. Saute the onions until translucent.
  6. Now add the rest of the spices.
  7. Saute them for a minute and add the lamb mince now.
  8. On a medium high heat, stir fry the mince for a good 6 to 7 minutes.
  9. Now add potatoes and green peas too.
  10. Cover and simmer for about 15 to 18 minutes.
  11. Add little water if required.
  12. Simmer on low heat only.
  13. Garnish with coriander and garam masala.
  14. Serve hot with rotis and parathas.
