Kheema Matar Pav

Ingredients to make Kheema Matar Pav

  • Kheema or minced meat 300 gms
  • Green peas 1 cup
  • onions 2 finely chopped
  • tomatoes 2 finely chopped
  • ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  • coriander powder 1 tablespoon
  • Pav bhaji masala 1 tablespoon
  • turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt accordingly
  • sugar 1/2 teaspoon
  • coriander leaves 1 fistful
  • butter 50 gms
  • lemon 1
  • Pav buns 8
  • oil 2 tablespoons

How to make Kheema Matar Pav

  1. Pressure cook green peas for 2 whistles with salt and sugar and keep aside.
  2. Saute kheema in oil with salt , turmeric powder,and 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste and pressure cook for 5 whistles
  3. In a kadai heat oil and add finely chopped onions and saute till it turns pink.
  4. Then add tomatoes and ginger garlic paste and saute till it turns mushy.
  5. Now add the masala powders and saute till oil oozes out
  6. Now add the cooked kheema and green peas and simmer for 10 minutes till everything blends well.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  8. Toast the pav buns with butter.
  9. Serve the kheema mutter topped with a dollop of butter, slice of lemon,onions and butter toasted pav.

My Tip:

Vegetarians can use soya chunks kheema instead of mutton kheema. Minced chicken can also be used.
