These crispy pakodas made with babycorns are the perfect accompaniment for the evening tea.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup baby corns [diced into pieces]
  2. 1/2 cup plain flour (maida)
  3. 1 tbsp cornflour
  4. 1 tbsp curd (dahi)
  5. 1 tsp chilly powder
  6. 1 tsp garlic, ginger paste
  7. a pinch of soda
  8. salt to taste
  9. oil for deep-frying


  1. wash and cut the baby corns into pieces. Combine all the ingredients along with approximately 1/2 cup of water in a deep bowl and mix well using a whisk to make a thick batter.
  2. Dip each baby corn half into the batter and deep-fry in hot oil, a few at a time, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  3. Serve immediately with tomato sauce .
